Corrosion Resistance of 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel

For many applications, 2205 duplex stainless steel is a cost-effective alternative to the 300 series stainless steels, which are susceptible to chloride stress corrosion cracking when exposed to chloride exposure. Stainless steels are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking when subjected to tensile stress while being in contact with solutions containing chlorides at the same time.
