The higher ferrous content of Incoloy 825, as well as its lower cost, makes it the ideal material for applications requiring elevated temperatures but not as high in criticality. Furthermore, due to the fact that the same machines and processes can be used to manufacture stainless steel, it is relatively simple to fabricate.

Incoloy 825 is also known as Inconel 825 and is available in a number of grades. Incoloy 825 is more resistant than Inconel 825 in terms of corrosion in aqueous environments, as opposed to milder environments. Despite the fact that a basic form of Incoloy will be widely utilized in the manufacturing industry, further alloying with enhancing elements will offer increased resistance to chemical and environmental corrosion, as well as physical deterioration, such as cracking and pitting on the surface.

Its excellent resistance to seawater, brine, sour gas and high chloride environments makes it an excellent choice for oil and gas applications. Although the most specialized Incoloy alloys 825 are mainly used in harsh chemical environments, such as acids, wet scrubbing, nuclear fuel, and the reactive atmospheres of furnaces, the most specialized alloys 825 are mainly employed in harsh chemical environments alloy 825 pipe supplier, alloy 825 composition, incoloy 825 seamless, alloy 825, inconel 825, alloy 825 round bar, alloy 825 tubing, a825 material, uns 8825, alloy 825 plate.

A nickel, chrome, iron alloy with the addition of Molybdenum, Copper, and Titanium is known as Inconel 825. It is a metal alloy that is formulated from nickel, chrome, and iron. Due to its exceptional resistance to corrosive environments and ability to reduce environments in which sulfuric and phosphoric acids are acquired, alloy 825 was invented as a means of reducing these environments. This alloy has a nickel content that is acceptable when it comes to corrosion resistance and stress corrosion cracking. The alloy 825 exhibits exceptional anti-oxidation and non-oxidizing heat acid performance. As a result of the titanium content in the alloy, the alloy is able to resist intergranular attack and pitting after fabrication and pitting. In addition, the alloy has a good weldability from all conventional welding mechanisms.

With its unique chemical composition, Incoloy 825 Sheets & Plates provide excellent corrosion resistance. They are designed for applications in extremely harsh environments. As a result of the high strength of copper-molybdenum in Incoloy 825 Sheets & Plates, they are widely regarded in the market, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications like a saline environment, nuclear plant exhaust systems, radioactive waste handling, etc. Having a corrosion resistance to phosphoric and sulfuric acid solutions, pitting, intergranular corrosion, crevice corrosion, as well as stress corrosion cracking, Incoloy 825 Sheets and Plates are not recommended for use in applications that require high creep-rupture strength.

A nickel-iron-chromium austenitic alloy with molybdenum, copper, and titanium, Incoloy 825 is renowned for its exceptional resistance to oxidizing and reducing environments. Due to the presence of titanium in this alloy, the alloy is quite resistant to sensitization, which can result in corrosion cracks and pitting. It is also resistant to corrosion cracking and pitting due to chloride stress corrosion. The Incoloy 825 products show excellent resistance to intergranular attacks when they are exposed to temperatures that are known to sensitize unstable stainless steel. For this reason, they are very well protected against intergranular attacks. As a nickel-based alloy that is extremely robust and weldable, there are some standard welding procedures that are needed to weld Incoloy 825 plates.

It has excellent mechanical properties at both cryogenic and moderately high temperatures, as well as excellent mechanical properties at cryogenic temperatures. In spite of this, the microstructure of the material can change when the material is exposed to temperatures above 540 degrees Celsius, which can lead to a reduction in ductility and impact strength of the material. In spite of this, cold work can greatly increase the strength and ductility of Alloy 825 sheets. As well as having good impact resistance at room temperature, these materials are able to maintain that strength at cryogenic temperatures as well.

As one of the top suppliers of Incoloy 825 plates in India, we are known for our high-quality products. Due to its exceptional corrosion resistance properties, Incoloy 825 is widely used in a range of industries, from air pollution control to petrochemicals, food processing to chemical to ore processing and waste disposal. As well as providing excellent resistance to various organic and inorganic acidic environments, Alloy 825 plate will also show excellent resistance to a wide variety of acidic environments such as sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric, etc. Aside from its corrosion resistance, it also has good corrosion resistance properties in alkaline environments such as acidic chlorides and potassium hydroxides.

Incoloy 825 Material Advantages

UNS N08825 is designed to provide exceptional resistance to many corrosive environments. It has the same properties as alloy 800, but has enhanced resistance to aqueous corrosion. In addition, Alloy 825 maintains excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, stress-corrosion cracking, as well as localized corrosion like pitting and crevice corrosion. Other advantages of Alloy 825 include:

  • Good mechanical properties at both room and elevated temperatures up to approximately 1000°F
  • Permission for pressure-vessel use at wall temperatures up to 800°F
  • Excellent resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids
  • Good resistance to stress-corrosion cracking
  • Satisfactory resistance to localized attack like pitting and crevice corrosion
  • Very resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acids

What is Inconel 825 used for

When reduced or oxidized, Incoloy 825 resists corrosion in general, pitting and crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Sulphuric and phosphoric acids, flue gases containing sulphur, sour gas and oil wells and seawater are some of its applications.
