Inconel 625 is a combination of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum alloys. Chemical, oil, gas, nuclear, and automotive industries use this grade because of its excellent resistance.

With good oxidation and corrosion resistance, Inconel 625 flanges offer excellent strength and durability even at temperatures as high as cryogenic to 1093 degrees Celsius. In addition to nickel, chromium, and a small amount of molybdenum and columbium, this alloy offers excellent fatigue and stress chloride corrosion resistance. Flanges connect two or more pieces of pipe equipment, such as a pump, valve, or pipe. Because Inconel 625 flanges are acid and corrosion-resistant and rust-free, they are employed in chemical and marine applications.

Nickel, molybdenum, and chromium alloy flanges with excellent strength from room temperature to 1500 deg F. In elevated temperatures, their length tends to be shorter than other solid solution-strength alloys. They have good oxidation resistance properties up to 1800 deg F. These flanges provide good resistance to aqueous corrosion; however, they are not generally as effective as modern corrosion resistance flanges. 

A forged or hot-worked flange has excellent forming and welding properties. The temperature is maintained between 1800°F and 2150°F. Due to the alloy's ductility, cold working operations can easily be performed. For grain size control, finish hot working operations should be performed at a lower temperature range. Typically, component-forming operations may require fluctuating annealing treatments since these flanges harden rapidly. All hot or cold worked parts are annealed and rapidly cooled to restore the best balance of properties. 

Inert gas welding, MIG, submerged arc welding, TIG, and resistance welding can be used to weld these flanges manually or automatically. They possess good restraint welding attributes. These flanges are supplied in the mill annealed condition. For optimum properties, it is usually mill annealed at 192°F or minus 25°F for a set time period. Water quenching and cooling are also performed. A low corrosion resistance flange has been widely used in chemical processing applications under seawater, power plants, etc.
