It is important to understand that alloy 800 round bar is a grade of Inconel, so let's take a look at Inconel here for a moment. As a general rule, an alloy is a steel made by combining certain metals in a specific ratio in order to form a steel. Inconel, just like any other alloy, contains nickel and chrome in equal proportions. It is important to note, however, that here the ratio of nickel and chromium is considerably higher than it is for other metals.

A nickel alloy contains 61.5% nickel, 22.5% chrome, and 0.05% carbon. Carbon makes the alloy stronger, more durable, and more durable. The alloy has an tensile strength of 80000 pounds per square inch, and a yield strength of 30000 pounds per square foot at a 35% elongation rate. Inconel 601 has very good ductility as well. Inconel 600, Inconel 601, Inconel 625, alloy 800 round bar, and Inconel 825 are the Inconel grades available for Inconel.

The grade 800 has a similar variant which is 800H. In addition to Inconel itself, there are two variants of 800 that are identical i.e. 800 itself and 800H, which are the same grade. In 800 and 800H, a particular characteristic is the presence of cobalt in the chemical property of the material. The chemical composition of the grade is Nickel and Cobalt at maximum of 35.0%, Cobalt separately at 2.00%, Chromium at maximum 23.0%, Copper at 0.75%, Manganese at 1.50%, Aluminium at 0.60%. As far as the mechanical properties of Inconel 800 are concerned, they are as follows: Tensile Strength of 75 ksi and 520 MPa, Yield Strength of 30 ksi and 205 MPa with an elongation of 30%.

Despite the fact that alloy 800 round bar are a significant alloy that is used for a lot of different purposes, they are just like usual bars, but they are round in shape, and they can be manufactured in a variety of different shapes such as square, rectangle, round, hexagonal, etc. All Inconel 800 and 800H inconel grades are similar in almost every way and can be used in almost any application, however both  Inconel grades will perform equally well in any application.

The size could range from 6mm to 120mm and length depends on whether it can be uniform or customised. Finished Inconel round bars come as Bright orPolished and Black. The bars are used as it is or it is cut and made into a whole new product. Inconel 800 round bars is an iron-nickel-chromium that is quite resistant to corrosion and oxidation. This round bar can bear very much temperature. The Inconel 800 can be heat treated at 2100° F. The Inconel 800 can be forged into products like sheets, plates, tubes, pipes, bars, rods, flanges, fasteners, pipe fittings, etc. all these products have demand in a number of industries.

The Incoloy 800 Material is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that exhibits several characteristics and demonstrates its use in a wide variety of applications. It has the ability to hold the austenitic structure in place and is capable of exhibiting a variety of characteristics. Incoloy 800 Material has high carbon levels of 800 H and is composed of 1.20 percent aluminium as well as titanium. It is the first alloy to use as the 800H has been slightly altered. This adjustment was done in order to control both the carbon content as well as the grain size in order to improve the stress rupture character of the part.

Known for its moderate strength and resistance to oxidation and carburization, hot finish Inconel  round bar is an iron, nickel & chromium alloy with a moderate tensile strength. Due to its nickel content, this alloy is extremely resistant to cracking chloride stress corrosion and precipitation fragility.

These two superalloys differ primarily in composition. Inconel is primarily nickel-chrome alloy containing 50% nickel. Incoloy is nickel-iron-chrome alloy containing less than 50% nickel. The alloys differ in their specific applications and suitability as well.

This alloy demonstrates superior creep as well as stress rupture properties in an annealed state. If we speak about the Incoloy 800 Material uses, then it is used in an application where temperatures up to 1100 degrees F are available. The chemical balance makes it possible to demonstrate excellent resistance to oxidation, carburization and nitriding atmosphere in the nickel steel alloy. Even after the large duration of use in the 1200 to 1600 degree F where different stainless steel is embrittled, the Incoloy 800HT Rod is not embrittled.

Types of Incoloy 800 bars

The Incoloy 800 bars are available in different shapes, some of which are the hex, circle, rectangular, rectangle, and rolling Inconel round bar. The finishing is given to these bars as bright polishes, rough turns, matt finishes and BA finishes.

Mechanical characteristics

Over a wide temperature range, the Incoloy 800 alloy has strong mechanical strength. The facilities in which they are used are built on the basis of tensile properties. At room temperature, this alloy exhibits greater tensile strength. This alloy also demonstrates high strength of impact as well as remains difficult at cryogenic temperatures. This alloy’s compressive yield strength is similar to tensile yield strength.

Applications of Inconel 800 Round Bars

Inconel 800 and 800H Inconel round bars mainly used in industries like Deaerating heaters, Marine engineering, Chemical and hydrocarbon processing equipment, Gasoline and, freshwater tanks, Boiler feed water heaters and other, heat exchangers, Valves, pumps, shafts, fittings, and fasteners, Industrial heat exchangers, Crude petroleum stills, Chlorinated solvents, Crude oil distillation towers. All these mentioned industries rely heavily on Inconel 800 and 800H as it is an alloy that has the ability to withstand the harsh conditions and temperatures of the.

Is Inconel 800 magnetic?

Although Inconel is not naturally magnetic, many of its alloys possess magnetic properties due to their alloying elements and heat-treating behaviour.

What are the applications where bars of Incoloy 800 are used?

  • Ethylene boiler quenching furnace
  • Commercial furnaces
  • Valves, fittings and apparatus that are prone to corrosive attack
  • Heat treatment facilities
  • Cracking of hydrocarbons
  • Vessels under pressure
  • A mega heater in power plants as well as a re heater
  • Chemical as well as petrochemical manufacturing

As a result, these alloys are commonly made use of in applications where they are exposed to both corrosive atmospheres as well as elevated temperatures, such as the paper pulp industry and nuclear power plants ping system as well as heat exchangers in nitric acid media, both petrochemicals and chemical processing industries use this alloy mostly where resistance to chloride stress corrosion is necessary. These alloys are used by the power plant as re-heater tubing as well as superheater tubing.
