As part of the 800 series of alloys, Incoloy is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy composition. The ease in manufacturing is one of its main advantages, as it uses the same machinery and methods as stainless steel and uses the same methods and machinery. As should be obvious by now, a simple form of Incoloy is widely used in general, but further alloying with enhancing elements will give it even greater resistance to corrosion from chemicals and the environment, as well as to physical degradation caused by pitting and cracking of its surfaces.

Incoloy Material

It is an alloy and contains nickel, iron, chromium, molybdenum, copper, and titanium with the addition of molybdenum, copper and titanium. It is the chemical composition of the alloy that is engineered to provide outstanding resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments as a result of its composition.

Difference between Inconel and Incoloy

In terms of their composition, they are very different from one another. Nickel-chrome alloys, such as Inconel, typically contain over 50% nickel, while nickel-chrome alloys, such as Incoloy, typically contain less than 50% nickel. There is an alloy of Nickel, Iron, and Chrome contained in Inconel.

Characteristics of Incoloy 800H Welded Tubes

  • It is an optimistic time due to the high temperatures
  • There is a great deal of creep rupture strength in this material.
  • Chemicals containing sulfur are extremely resistant to this material.
  • Heating systems and components for industrial applications
  • Developing, producing, and supplying petrochemicals
  • A heat-treating equipment example would be a pressure vessel and a heat exchanger
  • Cracking of hydrocarbons in hydrocarbon reservoirs

Applications Of Incoloy 800H Welded Tubes

  • There are so many valves, fittings, and other components that are exposed to corrosion in industrial furnaces operating at temperatures between 1100°F and 1800°F that they can become damaged and corroded
  • Systems that use heat to treat materials
  • There is a cracking reaction that occurs when hydrocarbons are heated
  • Power station super-heaters, re-heaters, and similar equipment
  • A vessel that is designed to withstand high pressure
  • A heat exchanger is a device that converts heat into the heat

A Welded Tube made of Alloy 800H is used in heat-treating equipment such as baskets, trays, and fixtures (which is also known as a Welded Pipe made of WNR 1,4958). A special purpose UNS N08825 Welded Tube can be used in various applications related to the chemical and petrochemical industries, including heat exchangers and nitric acid piping systems, particularly where corrosion resistance is required against chloride stress-corrosion cracking. The Incoloy 800H Welded Tube is used for the tubing of superheaters as well as re-heaters in power stations.

These alloy 800H Welded Tubes are used in a wide variety of applications that require exposure to corrosive environments and high temperatures, such as heat treating machinery, chemical processing, petrochemical processing, nuclear power plants, and the pulp and paper industry, to name just a few.  It is used in heat-treatment facilities such as baskets, trays, and fixtures in which the Incoloy 800H Welded Tubes are used.

Since Incoloy has a higher ferrous content and is, therefore, less expensive compared to other materials, it is the optimal material for applications that require an elevated temperature but are not as critical. It can be manufactured with the same machinery and processes that are used to produce stainless steel, which makes it an advantage over stainless steel.

There are various grades of this alloy available, with the emphasis being on its resistance to aggressive corrosion, especially in aqueous environments where corrosion may be a serious problem. While Incoloy 800H Welded Tube is suitable for most applications, further alloying increases corrosion resistance, surface pitting and cracking resistance, and resistance to chemical and environmental corrosion.

SMO 254 Pipes & Tubes

Despite the high nickel content in the alloy 800 seamless pipe, the metal has been found to be highly resistant to both stress-related corrosion cracking induced by chloride ions as well as embrittlement due to the precipitation of the sigma phase at the ends of the pipe. In this way, the ASTM B407 Incoloy 800HT n08825 Hollow Pipe is particularly useful for high-temperature applications, such as those in the petrochemical industry, where high-temperature applications are expected.

As a result of its high temperature resistance combined with its primary alloyant, the Alloy 800H ERW Pipe is able to withstand elevated temperature settings and does not form the embrittling sigma phase even after long periods of exposure to an elevated temperature as high as 1200°F, owing to the combination of nickel as its primary alloyant.

The Inconel 800h Seamless Pipe has a surface area of 3.8 mm and has been solution heat treated at a temperature of 2100°F to create a seamless pipe. It is important to note that Inconel 800h pipes are a carbon-controlled version of their parent alloy - Alloy 825 composition - with improved properties when it comes to elevated temperatures, in addition to being solution treated. Alloy 800h pipe exhibits high creep and stress rupture characteristics when it is heated to elevated temperatures between 1100°F and 1800°F, which temperatures that range from 1100°F to 1800°F.

As with the H version of the alloy 800 pipe, the HT version of the alloy 800 pipe also consists of a higher percentage of aluminum and titanium than the H version of the alloy 800 pipes. A range of 0.85 % - 1.20% is the range of modification in the composition of alloy 800ht seamless pipes that are made from this alloy. In this manner, the Inconel alloy 800ht pipe can be subjected to medication to create the optimal high-temperature properties of the newly formed alloy, so that the Inconel alloy 825 tubing pipe can be used for applications that require high temperatures.
