DETAILED INFORMATION
SS 316 / 316l / 316h sheet plate is one of the most popular stainless steel sheet plate grades manufactured, shipped, and supplied by Rajveer Stainless Singapore to its clients. According to the standards followed by international manufacturers, these plates are structured according to the standards that they adhere to. Our clients can take advantage of the fact that we can provide plates of specific dimensions tailored to meet their individual requirements from us.
As one of the most widely used components of any industry, particularly in the construction industry, sheets and plates are widely used. It is worth mentioning that these products are also being widely used in a wide range of industries, such as chemical processing, industrial applications, engineering applications, power plants, thermal plants, nuclear plants, construction industries, marine industries, among many others. They have a high presence in these industries because of a number of features that they possess. In order to manufacture the sheets and plates, the highest quality stainless steel is used in the manufacturing process. 316 steel plates and sheets, which are available in the grades 316l, 316h, and 316ti, are becoming popular as a material for the manufacture of plates and sheets.
It has been found that stainless steel sheets made of grade 316 stainless steel are made using low carbon steel that produces chequered plates, hot rolled steel sheets, plates, and other forms of steel. As a result of having decent climatic consumption resistance, these sheets and coils are ideal for oil and gas applications because they are able to withstand moderate temperatures. Furthermore, because of their superior resistance to intergranular corrosion, these materials have found their way into a wide range of applications in the marine industry. In the marine industry, they are useful as they improve the pitting resistance of steel to chloride solutions and halide solutions, which is the reason why they are so useful. They are highly preferred due to the fact that they have high tensile, stress-rupture, creep, and temperature resistance characteristics at elevated temperatures.
In addition to that, they have the ability to resist acids such as sulfuric acid, tartaric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, and alkaline chloride, which is highly demanded in a variety of different industries. This all is made possible by the titanium that is present in the stainless steel 316 ti sheet plate that is available in the market. SS 316H sheets and plates are very strong because of their expanded strength, and therefore they can be used at higher temperatures thanks to their expanded strength. When manufacturing the sheets and plates, we use only the highest quality standards to ensure a quality product. The stainless steel 316 / 316l / 316ti / 316h sheet plates can also be used in other industrial applications once additional testing has been carried out on them in order to achieve additional quality assurance. We perform, for instance, hardness, chemical test, pitting resistance, and more tests on the sheets and plates we manufacture. In order to meet the requirements of our esteemed clients, we provide UNS S31600, S31603, S31635, S31609 Sheets and Plates that are designed in accordance with international and national standards in customized lengths, shapes, and sizes. WNR 1.4401, 1.44436, 1.4404, 1.4435, 1.4571 Sheet & Plate, commonly referred to as WNR 1.4436, 1.4404, 1.4435, 1.4571 Plate & Sheet, are readily available at best possible prices in the market.
A stainless steel grade 316 is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel that includes molybdenum. The addition of this additive increases corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting chloride solutions, and provides increased strength at high temperatures. Properties are same as to those of type 304 aside from that 316 are somewhat stronger at high temperatures. Corrosion resistance is enhanced, specifically against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic and tartaric acids, acid sulphates and alkaline chlorides.
Stainless Steel Grade 316L is a low carbon austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steels with corrosion resistance same as type 316 however with resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding.
Stainless Steel Grade 316His a higher carbon variation of 316 making the steel more suitable for use in applications where high temperatures are available. Balanced Grade 316Ti offers comparable qualities. The expanded carbon content delivers a greater tensile and yield strength. The austenitic structure of the material also gives this grade excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures.
This stainless steel grade, 316Ti, is a titanium-balanced austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing molybdenum. By extending this design, corrosion resistance is enhanced, as is resistance to pitting chloride ion solutions and strength at high temperatures is increased. Its properties are similar to those of type 316, though 316Ti can be used at high sensitization temperatures due to its titanium addition. Corrosion resistance is enhanced, especially against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic and tartaric acids, acid sulphates and alkaline chlorides

Fabrication Data
Alloy 316H can be easily welded and processed by standard shop fabrication practices.
Hot Forming
Working temperatures of 1700 – 2200°F (927 – 1204°C) are recommended for most hot working processes. For maximum corrosion resistance, the alloy should be annealed at 1900°F (1038°C) minimum and water quenched or rapidly cooled by other means.
Cold Forming
The alloy is quite ductile and forms easily. Cold working operations will increase the strength and hardness of the alloy and might leave it slightly magnetic.
Welding
Alloy 316H can be readily welded by most standard processes. A post weld heat treatment is not necessary.
Machining
Alloy 316H is subject to work hardening during deformation and is subject to chip breaking. The best machining results are achieved with slower speeds, heavier feeds, excellent lubrication, sharp tooling and powerful rigid equipment.

Corrosion Resistance
Types 316 and 316L Stainless Steels display preferable corrosion resistance over Type 304. They provide superb pitting resistance and very good resistance to most chemicals involved in textile, the paper and photographic industries.
Machining
For work harden, slow speeds and heavy feeds will minimize this alloy’s tendency. Because of long stringy chips, the utilization of chip breakers is recommended. Many organizations now offer premium machinability grades, for example CarTech with their Project 70 and 7000 series.
Welding
All regular fusion and resistance process aside from oxyacetylene welding have proven successful. For getting the best result, it uses AWS E/ER316 or 316L filler metal.
Hot Working
All common hot working processis possible with this alloy. Heat to 2100-2300 F (1149-1260 C). Avoid working this material beneath 1700 F (927 C). For ideal corrosion resistance, a post-work annealing is recommended.
Cold Working
This alloy can be successfully performed with the help of shearing, stamping, heading and drawing. Post-work annealing is recommended to remove internal stresses.
Annealing
1850-2050 F (1010-1121 C) followed by fast cooling.
Hardening
This alloy doesn’t reply to heat treatment. Cold work will cause an increase in both hardness and strength.
